PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Icelandtotal.com offers a variety of tours, packages tickets and services (“products”) through its website (icelandtotal.com). Because our Terms & Conditions contain legal obligations, we encourage you to read them carefully. They form the basis on which bookings are accepted by icelandtotal.com. The purchase of any travel services offered by IcelandTotal constitutes a contractual arrangement between the person making the booking and IcelandTotal, and represents acceptance of Iceland Total’s Terms & Conditions described here. Please ensure that you read carefully and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking. Your payment is not deemed made until it is received by IcelandTotal.
When making your booking, you must complete a booking form, accepting these conditions on behalf of your party and pay a non-refundable EUR 100 deposit per person when purchasing a travel package, which involves one or more services and/or an overnight accommodation. The contract exists from the moment we issue our confirmation invoice. All bookings made online require full payment at the time of booking.
After you have confirmed your booking, you will receive an email with your booking number and a list of services purchased. Print out this document as it works as your voucher in your Iceland visit.
PAYMENTS AND VALIDITY OF PRICES
All rates quoted or shown in our tariffs are based on current purchasing prices in Iceland. Icelandtotal.com reserves the right to change prices already quoted or published at the website and/or price lists without notice in the event of currency fluctuation, government taxes, or due to any other cost increases that are outside icelandtotal.com’s control. Prices listed on icelandtotal.com are per person, unless otherwise specified.
Icelandtotal.com reserves the right to correct wrong pricing, in case a booking is made on a package/tour that holds a wrong price within the booking system. In such cases, you will be informed as soon as possible and notified about the correction. Should you need to pay additional fee, you will have the option of doing so. However if you choose to cancel your booking, you will get a full refund. No compensation will be paid and icelandtotal.com shall have no further liability to you.
Icelandtotal.com reserves the right to alter the prices of any of the daytours, packages, holidays and other services shown in our website (icelandtotal.com). It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your booking after it has been confirmed. However, occasionally, changes do occur. Most are minor and you will be informed as soon as possible if there is time before your departure. Should you need to pay additional fee, you will have the option of doing so. However if you choose to cancel your booking, you will get a full refund. No compensation will be paid and icelandtotal.com shall have no further liability to you.
If a package or tour is cancelled due to situations beyond our control or minimum numbers not being reached we will refund the money you have paid. No compensation will be paid and icelandtotal.com shall have no further liability to you.
Payments
When making an online booking of a fixed tour/package, you are required to complete the full payment of the tour/package. If you are purchasing a customized and/or private tour/package, the payment terms are negotiated individually. However, Icelandtotal.com will always charge a 10% deposit fee and full payment will have to be made at least 2 weeks before the services start.
Amending/Cancelling an Online Booking
Travel documents are issued at the time of booking. Once the booking has been completed, names, dates and hotels cannot be changed and cancellations will not be refunded. If you need to ament your booking, service fees will apply according to the below.
All transactions at the site are in the Euro currency. Your purchase is charged in Euros and refunds are in Euros. Icelandtotal.com is not responsible for any changes in currency exchange rates that might occour from a time of booking until a refund is made.
Amending your booking
If you wish to make any changes to your holiday arrangements after confirmation has been issued, we will do our utmost to comply. Written notification from the person who signed the booking form or their travel agent must be received at least four weeks before departure. An amendment fee of up to EUR 40 per person will be levied according to the amount of work involved and must be paid at the time the amendment is made. Some suppliers charge amendment fees. These must be paid in addition to our amendment fee at the time the amendment is made. Alterations cannot normally be made within two weeks of departure. A passenger who is prevented from travelling may transfer their booking to another person, provided that this other person fulfils the conditions of the booking. The original client and the new one are jointly liable for paying the original cost plus any additional costs arising, including an administration fee. Reasonable notice must be given of a wish to transfer.
If you cancel your booking
Should you have any reason to cancel your booking, or part of it, or fail to pay the full cost of your holiday you will be liable to pay any losses we have incurred in organising your holiday. The person making the original arrangements must give us written notice of cancellation. As cancellation incurs administrative costs, we will retain your deposit and may also apply cancellation charges up to the maximum shown below. Please note that a 10% cancellation fee is always charged, when cancelling a package booking.
Cancellation Terms
Period before Cancellation fee as departure a % of total cost. The cancellation fee differs between Packages (which include over-night accommodation and/or car rental) and Day tours.
Packages:
If you cancel at least 15 calendar days in advance of the scheduled departure or commencement time, there is no cancellation fee. However, you will be charged a 10% deposit fee.
If you cancel between 7 and 14 calendar days in advance of the scheduled departure or commencement time, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
If you cancel between 3 and 6 calendar days in advance of the scheduled departure or commencement time, you will be charged a 80% cancellation fee.
If you cancel within 2 calendar days of the scheduled departure or commencement time, you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.
Daytours:
If you cancel at least 7 calendar days in advance of the scheduled departure or commencement time, there is no cancellation fee.
If you cancel between 3 and 6 calendar days in advance of the scheduled departure or commencement time, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.
If you cancel within 2 calendar days of the scheduled departure or commencement time, you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee.
If the reason for cancellation is covered by insurance, you may be able to reclaim these charges from your insurance company.
Complaints
If you have a problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g. hotel) immediately so that they can endeavour to put things right. If your complaint cannot be resolved locally, you must lodge a written complaint with us within 28 days of your return. Please include your original booking reference and all relevant information to:

If this procedure is not followed, then the investigation of the complaint will be hindered and the outcome may be affected. Any disputed complaints arising out of, or in connection with this contract may, if you wish, be referred to arbitration under a special scheme. It is strongly suggested that you communicate any complaint to the supplier of the services in question without delay and, confirm this in writing to them, whilst you are in Iceland.
BOOKINGS, CONFORMATIONS AND DEPARTURES
Packages
Most bookings are confirmed instantly. However, some confirmations take up to 48 hours. This applies mostly to packages that include over-night stay and/or car rental. Our aim is to confirm all pending bookings within one business day (24 hours). However, this might take longer, e.g. when bookings are made during weekends and/or public holidays.
Icelandtotal.com reserves the right to cancel bookings when services are not available (e.g. when a car rental is not available, when accommodation is unavailable, etc.).
Majority of all daytours and activities can be confirmed instantly. Seats can not be guaranteed unless reserved or booked at least 48 hours before scheduled departure time.
Occasionally our suppliers and/or service providers make changes to tour dates, prices, inclusions, coverage, age requirements, etc. As a result, Icelandtotal.com reserves the right to cancel, change or substitute any service, tour, ticket or product that you have booked at Icelandtotal.com, at any time, for any reason. In such cases, we will inform you of these changes and alternatives offered in stead as soon as possible. If you are dissatisfied with the alternatives offered, you are entitled to a full refund of the original purchase price.
Scheduled tours depart on specific dates and time, listed in your booking confirmation email. It’s the customer’s responsibility to be ready for departure, at the stated date and time. Shall the customer, for whatever reason (e.g. missed flight, bad weather, illness, accidents or other unforeseeable events), miss the departure, icelandtotal.com is under no obligation to refund nor provide any compensation. Please contact your insurance company for advice.
Day tours & Activities
All tours are operated by partners of Icelandtotal.com. All the operators are handpicked from the staff at Icelandtotal.com, all fully licensed and experienced operators. After you have booked your tour online, you will get a confirmation with information about who is operating your tour and how to contact him.
Seats can not be guaranteed unless reserved or booked at least 3 hours before scheduled departure time. In some tours, departures are subject to a minimum amount of passengers. In these cases, Icelandtotal.com will contact the relevant suppliers/service providers and get confirmation. If these minimum passengers requirement is not met, icelandtotal.com will notify you with the cancellation. Should the tour be cancelled due to these reasons, icelandtotal.com will refund all payments. However, icelandtotal.com is under no obligation to provide any compensation in these cases.
When a complimentary pick-up at your hotel is included, the time of pick-up time is ca. 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure times. It’s your responsibility to contact the service provider of specific tours (not icelandtotal.com) and advise them on pick-up location. You can ask your hotel reception for assistance.
Please be in front of your hotel or in the lobby for pick-up. Please note that indicated return times are according to normal road and weather conditions and may change if conditions are unfavorable.
During all full day excursions there is a lunch stop at a local restaurant.
Guidance is in English, unless otherwise stated. Some tours are additionally guided in German, French or Scandinavian (maximum 2 languages per tour).
LIABILITY
Icelandtotal.com disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, sickness or changes in schedules caused by weather, strikes or any other irregularity outside icelandtotal.com control. Icelandtotal.com reserves the right to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. In case of any changes in flights (domestic and international), the passenger has to pay any additional cost caused by this, at the time the service is provided (extra hotel nights, meals, transfers etc). We advise all clients to have insurance, as clients are on their own responsibility on optional tours, such as riding tours, white water rafting, snowmobiling, etc.
All tours and trips purchased from Icelandtotal.com are undertaken on the responsibility of its participants. Icelandtotal.com does not assume any responsibility for accidents that are caused by its customers or can be traced to there own actions. Participants may have to sign a waiver before undertaking all trips stating that they realize that all outdoor activities carry an inherit risk.
All complaints must reach Icelandtotal.com within 5 days from departure from Iceland. Otherwise possible compensation is not valid.
All information on icelandtotal.com (the website) is subject to change and we reserve the right to alter/change/correct mistakes that may possibly appear in the website. These General booking conditions are subject to change and we reserve the right to alter/change/correct/ update these conditions without notice.
