Geyser in Iceland
Geyser is a colorful geothermal field in a 3 km2 area where hot springs and geysers are abundant.
Geyser spouting spring is the world’s largest geyser, whose name is the generic term for this strange phenomenon. Geyser, believed to have formed in the thirteenth century, has a bowl 18m in diameter with a 20m deep chamber below.
Its eruptions are majestic and after the big earthquakes in 2000 it has erupted several times.
A smaller, adjacent hot spouting spring, Strokkur, is a popular attraction, erupting at 5–10 minute intervals.
The whole area contains a variety of hot springs and bubbling pools.
