When Will the City be Finished ?

A tremendous build-up is currently going on in Reykjavik City. Offices, flats, department stores are being built and hotels as well.

Within the next few years a major venue for musical performance and conferences will be opened in the city centre. It will feature the best conditions for conferences and next to it, a five-star hotel that will be available for conference guests.

Grand Hotel Reykjavik has recently finished a 14-storied tower with 209 rooms. In addition to the rooms, there are 3 conference halls, 2 meeting rooms and 2 ball rooms. To say the least, the view from the top is excellent.

Two new Center Hotels opened this year in the downtown area. Þingholt Hotel, with its 52 rooms, is a Design-Boutique hotel with a strong focus on quality modern design, inspired by Icelandic nature. Arnarhvoll Hotel, a 3 star hotel, situated on the scenic north waterfront of Reykjavik’s city center, offers a breathtaking view of Faxafloi bay.

Cabin Hotel has recently gone through renovations that are meant to expand and improve the hotel. The hotel now offers two new types of rooms, deluxe and superior. The new rooms are considerably bigger then the standard ones and located on the top floor of the hotel.
