Photos by Viggo Mortensen Displayed in Iceland

The Danish-American actor Viggo Mortensen, world famous for starring in the “Lord of the Rings" trilogy will open an exhibition of his photographs in Reykjavík Museum of Photography on May 31st, entitled "Skovbo" in Danish, or “Forest People".

"He is preparing a special exhibition for us," the director of Reykjavík Museum of Photography Ms. María Karen Sigurdardóttir told Morgunbladid. "These are pictures of nature, taken in Iceland and elsewhere."

"Preparations are going well," Sigurdardóttir added. "Mortensen says he wants to sell his pictures for a low price and the profits are supposed to go to the Iceland Nature Conservation Association."

A huge crowd is bound to follow Mortensen to Iceland, especially if his photos are for sale for a nickel or two!  And for a good cause...

Apart from acting and taking photographs, Mortensen has also published poetry books, written music and held exhibitions of his paintings. He has published five photography books with his own work.
