Þórsmörk & The South Coast AG

We start by driving in modified super trucks along the south shore, heading for one of the places that Icelanders appreciate most, Þórsmörk (The Woods of Thor).

It is situated in the south of Iceland between the glaciers Tindfjallajökull, Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. Its location lends to its particularly warm climate, which is better than in the rest of south Iceland. Among en route stops are Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall that you can actually walk behind, and the glacial lagoon of Eyjafjallajökull. We will also cross a number of small gullies and some rough glacial rivers on our way into the valley.

Glaciers and mountains surround Þórsmörk on three sides, which create favorable circumstances for growth for the over 170 plant species you can find in the area.  Great view of the Mt. Hekla volcano, that is incredibly active, the last eruption was in year 2000.
