Landmannalaugar & Mt. Hekla AG

The interior route to Landmannalaugar crosses lava fields, small rivers, black ash and scoria desert, and passes volcanic craters, which make up an eerie lunar- type landscape. Landmannalaugar is surrounded by colourful mountains due to millennia of volcanic activity in the area. Possibility to bathe in a warm brook, remember to bring along swim-suit and towel (please note that use of soap is strictly forbidden).

On the way back to Reykjavík the tour will drive along the roots of the world famous and quite active volcano Mt. Hekla but the latest eruption was in the year 2000.
