Take a Walk on the Ice Side RE

Departing from Reykjavik for an easy walk on a glacier in the south area of Iceland. Within about 2 hours drive, we will reach the base camp from where we start our walk. From Mýrdalsjökull ice cap, the Sólheimajökull glacier tongue extends down to the lowlands and is an impressive ice field of solid blue ice with crusty whitish surface.

With crampons on our feet, we take an easy walk up on the ice field, where a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses awaits discovery. We will teach you how to use basic glacier equipment and those who want to try some ice climbing can test their skills.
