Greenland
Only available in summer
Greenland is the largest island on Earth - where the inhabitants possess more than 30 different words to describe snow. Visitors can look forward to a holiday experience which is out of this world. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of this beautiful arctic country so rich in contrasts and filled with wonderful opportunities for all visitors.
East Greenland
Greenland has a population of 55,000, whereas 3,000 live on the east coast of Greenland. This area is thought to be one of the few places on earth that has still not been fully explored. The people of East Greenland live with their extreme environment. The sea, the ice, the mountains, and the animals they catch are all vital to their existence in this part of the world. In the middle of the summer the sun is visible for almost 24 hours, while at Christmas the days are short and dark.
Approximately 100 years have passed since the first Europeans arrived in Ammassalik, so traditional Inuit culture still plays an important role in everyday life. However East Greenland is also a modern community with most of the facilities found elsewhere in the world.
