DAY 1
Arrival and overnight in Reykjavik (transfer from international airport not included)
DAY 2
Drive to Þingvellir national park. Continue to the lake dotted Borgarfjörður area across Kaldidalur highland pass (4WD needed - open mid June) or Hvalfjörður fjord. Visit Reykholt where eminent 13th century scholar, Snorri Sturluson, lived and worked.
DAY 3
Explore the countless natural wonders of Snæfellsnes peninsula such as the rocky beach of Djúpalónssandur and Arnarstapi sea cliffs. Drive through small fishing villages around the famous Snæfellsjökull glacier which appeared in the science fiction novel by Jules Verne "Journey to the Center of the Earth".

DAY 4
Drive north over Laxárdalsheiði plateau to the historical region Skagafjörður renowned for horsebreeding. There is the option of visiting the old farmstead of Glaumbær a great example of old Icelandic architecture. Head to Akureyri, the capital of the North.
Optional: River rafting in Skagafjörður, horse riding tour in Skagafjörður.
DAY 5
Spend the day in Akureyri, exploring the town and the surrounding area. Due to its excellent natural harbor and good accessibility, Akureyri has become the northern center of education, culture, trade and industry.
Optional: Grímsey excursion, Boat tour to Hrísey island.
DAY 6
Visit Goðafoss waterfall on the way to Mývatn. Spend the day exploring the many natural wonders of Lake Mývatn and the surrounding area. Visit highlights such as Dimmuborgir, the pseudocraters of Skútustaðir, the colourful sulfurous slopes of Námaskarð and Krafla volcano
DAY 7
Drive to the fishing port Húsavík and on to Tjörnes peninsula and explore the many wonders of the Jökulsárgljúfur National Park such as the strange formations of Hljóðaklettar (Echo Rocks) and the impressive horseshoe-shaped Ásbyrgi canyon.
Optional: Whale watching tour from Húsavík.
DAY 8
Across the Möðrudalsöræfi highlands renowned for their stark beauty and take a detour to Dettifoss, the mightiest waterfall in Europe before heading for Egilsstaðir.
DAY 9
Visit Hallormsstaður the largest forest plantation in Iceland set along the Lagarfljót lake, which according to legend contains a monster. Continue along the rugged yet spectacular varied coastline of the Eastern fjords and its charming fishing villages.
Optional: Boat tour to Papey island, Petra's stone collection
DAY 10
Visit the glacial lagoon Jökulsárlón with its shimmering icebergs and still, milky waters. On to Skaftafell National Park a green oasis nestling below the great Vatnajökull glacier. The park offers many hiking possibilities. Onwards to Kirkjubæjarklaustur

DAY 11
Drive the beautiful mountain track Fjallabaksleið, via Eldgjá to Landmannalaugar nature reserve (4wd needed). Or explore the area of Kirkjubæjarklaustur and continue across Eldhraun lava field to Vík with its black sands and Dyrhólaey.*
Optional: Bus tour to Laki crater.
*Please note that Dyrholaey is closed during nesting season in spring, middle May til June 23rd
DAY 12
Drive along the spectacular south coast, viewing highlights such as the volcano Mt.Hekla, Skógafoss waterfall, and Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Continue through fertile farmlands to the waterfall Gullfoss one of the most impressive waterfalls in Europe.
DAY 13
Explore the hot springs at Geysir and the famous Great Geyser which has given name to hot springs all over the world. Drive to the greenhouse village Hveragerði before continuing to Reykjavík.

Kayak tour from Stokkseyri
DAY 14
Drive through rugged lava fields to the Blue Lagoon, a unique natural pool of mineral rich geothermal water located in the middle of a lava field in the pure, beautiful Icelandic wilderness.
Optional: Bathing in the Blue Lagoon.
DAY 15
Departure (transfer not included).
